VISA:
Most nationalities can obtain a Nepal tourist visa on
arrival at international airports and land borders. A
passport valid for at least six months, a passport-sized
photo, and the visa fee are required. Some nationalities
must obtain a visa in advance.
PERMITS:
No permits are required to enter Nepal. However,
travelers visiting national parks, conservation areas, or
trekking regions must obtain trekking and
conservation permits. Travel to Tibet (China) and
Bhutan requires special permits arranged in advance,
which Yantra Tours & Travels can organize.

All travelers must carry travel insurance covering high-
altitude trekking and helicopter rescue. A copy of the
insurance policy must be provided before departure.
ACCOMMODATION & FOOD:
Accommodation ranges from budget to luxury hotels
in cities and tea houses to lodges on trekking routes.
Hygienic local and international food is widely
available. Momo is a popular and safe local dish.
MONEY & BANKING:
ATMs and money changers are available in major cities
and tourist towns. Credit cards are accepted in many
hotels and restaurants.
ELECTRICITY:
220V / 50Hz. Power cuts may occur in rural areas.
CULTURAL ETIQUETTE:
Remove shoes before entering temples and homes.
Walk clockwise around stupas. Respect local traditions
and avoid encouraging begging.

Tipping guides, porters, and drivers is customary and
appreciated.

The best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn
(September–November), offering clear skies and
excellent mountain views. Winter and monsoon are
also suitable for selected itineraries.
